In Helldivers 2, players take on the role of a Helldiver, a protector of Super Earth, and work together with others to defeat the invading factions. There are two main factions in the game: the Terminids and the Automatons.

Defeat the Terminids and Automatons to Protect Super Earth in Helldivers 2

Terminids

The Terminids are giant bug-like creatures that pose a significant threat to Helldivers. They swarm quickly and can easily overwhelm unprepared players. It is important to stay alert and listen for their screeches while keeping an eye on the mini-map to track their movements. The Terminids have various types, each with their own unique attacks and defenses. These include:

  • Scavenger
  • Hunter
  • Warrior
  • Stalker
  • Bile Spewer
  • Bile Titan
  • Charger
  • Brood Commander

The Terminid swarms consist of standard small insects, larger white insects with fast mobility and wider reach, and heavily armored insects. The Bile Titan, Charger, and Brood Commander are massive Terminids with acid-filled abdomens and strong armor. These larger Terminids require the use of Stratagems and support weapons to defeat.

Automatons

The Automatons are intelligent robots armed with firearms and melee weapons. They come in different versions and patrol the map. Standard firearm robots shoot laser bullets, while grenade-throwing robots pose a threat from a distance. Melee robots, known as Berserkers, charge at players with blades and chainsaws. The Automatons resemble iconic machines from Terminator, Avatar, and Star Wars. These larger robots have specific weaknesses that are difficult to exploit with standard weapons. The Automaton enemies in Helldivers 2 include:

  • Marauder
  • Commissar
  • Berserker
  • Scout Strider
  • Devastator
  • Hulk
  • Tank
  • Dropship (ship filled with reinforcements)

Both factions have the ability to call for reinforcements, resulting in a breach on the map and the spawning of additional enemies. Stealth tactics are more effective against Automatons, while all-out artillery attacks are recommended against the Terminids. Although there are currently only two factions in Helldivers 2, it is likely that more enemy factions will be added in the future.

In conclusion, as a Helldiver, players must be prepared to face the Terminids and the Automatons in order to protect Super Earth. By understanding the unique characteristics and weaknesses of each faction, players can strategize and work together to overcome these formidable enemies.
